New Task Trainers!

NYSIM is pleased to share two new task trainers acquired to improve and expand simulation education resources. The first, pictured above, is an Abdominal Examination Task Trainer with anatomically accurate adult torso. It includes:

• Normal and abnormal organs, including kidneys, liver, spleen, bladder, aortas, abdominal masses
• Abdominal palpation, percussion, and auscultation
• Allows for various bowel sounds, obstruction, aortic pulses, distension, fluid buildup
• Bench top and hybrid use with Simulated Patient
• Not ultrasoundable

The second, pictured above, is a comprehensive Knot Tying Trainer with 2 peri-operative openings to practice various surgical knot tying techniques. This task trainer allows for:

• One-handed reef knot technique
• Instrument ties
• Surgeon’s knots
• Slip knots
